Land Supply Key to Stabilising Housing Prices
Israel Land Authority Director General Yaakov Kvint highlighted the need to boost land supply to curb rising housing prices at the Kibbutz Momentum conference. He defended the prioritization of reserve duty soldiers for land tenders and noted a 20% drop in land prices over the last four years. However, Kvint acknowledged that high interest rates and construction delays are still driving up housing costs and called for expanded discounts in peripheral regions to make housing more affordable.
Jerusalem's Skyline Transformation
Jerusalem is embracing a new era of urban growth, with thousands of homes and millions of square meters of commercial space planned along 75 kilometers of light rail routes. The city's transformation includes the construction of towering buildings along these routes, reflecting a strategic shift towards efficient land use and sustainable development. This "renewal revolution" is not just reshaping the skyline but also positioning Jerusalem as a modern metropolis that bridges its rich history with a dynamic future.
